About Bihalji Merin (1904-1993)
- Serbian writer, essayist, art historian, publicist, publisher… He
was born to a Jewish family in Zemun in 1904 and died in Belgrade in
1993. He graduated from the College of General and Applied Art in
Berlin.

- Starting from the 30's Bihalji Merin was one of the most important
authorities and successful promoters of naive art in the world.
Of an unconventional mind, widely educated, an original and universal
thinker, efficient synthesist, associative writer, always clear and
widely read, Oto Bihalji Merin unmistakably recognized true values of
the art of his time noticing great ascents and tragic falls…
